"You found me in the middle of nowhere, and you made sense of everything that had happened to me and my Daddy. You did what you promised everyone you would do, and you found a way to make everyone's pain go away, except your own. You did nothing but help me, and...this is how I paid you back.
Ms. Kimishima...I'm so sorry."
"I'll come up with a plan, too. Please...just...stay alive, 'til then." --Derek Stiles, ep. "Crime of Passion" "This is the whole truth...illuminated by the light of life. You must've suffered, too. Let's end this." --Naomi Kimishima, Patient Zero ep. "Carpet of Blue Death"
(Sandy ~Sake-Kohei thinks the alternative title should be DISASTER GIRL, and also, I don't just randomly capitalize words--if you're not a TC fan, GUILT is a reference to Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin. /nerd)
SO THERE'S THIS PIANO PIECE YOU SHOULD REALLY LISTEN TO ONCE YOU'VE LOOKED AT THIS ARTWORK: [link]
I have no idea when or why this idea popped into my head, but I always thought Naomi and Rosalia had a special connection. I'm not sure what Atlus was aiming for with the trippy-colors interlude after the Rosalia forensics case, but I guess it's their idea of a near-death hallucination or vision. I guess when your cell phone's a voodoo hotline, anything is fair game. But, I really loved how personally Naomi took Rosalia's case, especially considering solving her death was just a courtesy to a dead girl rather than a necessity. With how much Rosalia's spirit seemed to be hanging around Resurgam, this image popped into my head, after Naomi went under the knife.
I wish I had better background skills. The more I tried to digitally insert a backdrop, the worse it looked, so I decided to leave it blank. Also, this is the first time I haven't had to color-correct a Copic marker piece. c: YAY FIRST LEGIT PAINTING/DRAWING OF THE YEAR!
Very nice. You really get the sense that Rosalia feels GUILTy../cough...ahah...sorry, had to be said. xD;
I really like how you colored this too. I struggle with copics. I remember really feeling sorry for Rosalia during the final forensics case. I'd replay it if I hadn't lent the game to a friend of mine.
The 2nd one made me cry the most. T-T That poor girl...I really felt bad for her. Her parents were horrible... I remember discovering the claw marks and the blood for the first time and my heart just dropped...I was seriously depressed for like 2 days and had to take a break after solving that case xD;
This is gorgeous! I really love the expressions and the color in their hair. Really light hair is so hard to draw. (Also... Only 3 hrs? XD Damn, you are skilled. It would take me forever and a day to do this.)
Awww, thanks so much, hon! I didn't have the right color of tealy-blue for Rosalia's hair--she's albino, but to give her some visual interest, her character render sort of fades from light grey/white at the top to a teal hue at the bottom. So I'm really glad you like it, regardless! And yeah, for some reason, I work fast with copic. It's so easy to lay down color quickly!
"Voodoo hotline" . . . I will think of Gabe everytime I hear that line.
This is an excellent art piece. I could actually picture Rosalia's soul hanging around there, especially since Naomi's other disease vanished soon after the operation; it's almost as if Rosalia herself was trying to right a wrong there. . . . The quotations in your comments also match the mood of the work perfectly. Well done!
*is extremely jealous of your skill, as she has the artistic skill of an earthworm*
This is incredible! No, seriously. The amount of detail you've put in is insane. My favourite details are the bloodied dressing and the oxygen mask - those really should have been included in the game. The symbolism with Rosalia is brilliant too. Really, there aren't enough words for me to say amaaazing this is. Nice work!
Uwahh, I'm so glad you noticed the little details. ;3; I was torn about making it that dramatic-looking, but I would imagine that's how she'd look after having her ribs cracked open and a killer virus excised. 8|
