Redglare's a pretty tough one to try for a first cosplay, but I would try putting it together from a purchased bodysuit + finding someone to help you with the vest and skirt! You can do it!

Yes, we did! Entirely from scratch :) I think the only purchased thing in either of our costumes are Mindfang's boots.

I believe my Mindfang just took a standard fitted/tailored jacket pattern and extended it to the floor. She used a combination of bias tape and paint for all the blue accents, and her hat is made of stiff interfacing covered in fabric. Her forearm bracers are made of painted craft foam. :)
