Meh. Was bored at work and decided to make good on a bit of what I wrote about in my latest journal entry.

Errr, when they say that hands are the hardest part of the anatomy to draw, they WEREN'T KIDDING. xDD

Bottom left one was INSANELY fun to do. Looked at some random stocks off of Corbis.com for inspiration.

Thoughts?

Mmmm I like them. I like the bottom right one better. I feel like the pinky muscle on the bottom left one is over-defined to the point of awkward. Like, I don't know anyone who does that many pinky-ups!! xD

xD The original reference picture had that sticking out pretty prominently, probably because the fingers are tensed from playing piano. But you're right, I know MY pinky doesn't do that. xDD Thanks dear!

Haha, believe me, I lubz teh critz. I just dunno what I can do about it here, really, since I was looking off a photo. Someone just has some crazy awesome tense finger ligaments? xDD But yeah, I definitely won't incorporate that into my own work.

I gotta do more study on hands. TT_TT MIne leave a lot to be desired. Did you learn to draw them by looking at actual hands or something? (Cuz no one will pose long enough for me to draw anything, bleh. ^^;)

I actually study my own hands quite a lot. xD I have very long piano fingers and generally like the shape of my hands, and they're like, pretty typical (aka don't have any distinguishing features like stubby fingers, pygmy fingernails, or weird joints) so I learn a lot just studying how they work. I know it sounds weird, but it works. xD
